Weddings without the lead time

Looking to get married in Scotland sooner rather than later? We know for some, that having got engaged, they want to tie the knot as soon as possible. There can be many practical reasons for this; particularly if friends and family are travelling from afar; or the bride and groom may be moving away.
You may be wondering if it’s possible to plan a wedding with a short lead time; of course you can!
You’ll need some important pieces of information to enable you to get started:
- How many guests would you like to invite? Will it be a very small celebration; or an event for a large number of people?
- Are you looking for a civil ceremony, which may be more flexible for dates than organising a date in a church?
Then, choose your venue. Ensure your chosen venue can accommodate your numbers, your date, and civil ceremony if required. Once this is booked, the next crucial step is to book your registrar or humanist. Your venue will be able to give you contact details for both.
Work with your wedding venue to discuss your food options. Whether you’re looking for an informal buffet, or formal sit down wedding breakfast, you want your food choices to match the style of your celebration. Discuss any food allergies or dietary requirements too.
Once your date is confirmed, ensure you send your invitations out; and don’t forget to choose your best man, and bridesmaids if you’re having them. Many department stores now offer a range of formal wear, so you can choose your outfits. Don’t forget to buy your wedding rings.
